Write a fractured fairy tale with four of your class mates.
Each class mate should develop a different part of the fairy tale and include a humourous interpretation. For example, one person could develop the good characters, another the bad characters, one the setting, one the plot and another the ending.
After this section has been composed student can collaboratively design and draw a main event from the fairy tale. The illustration can be poster sized - A3 or A2.
Students will overlay the handwritten/computer generated fairy tale in the centre of the poster so the illustrations surround the writing.
Students can use various forms of 2d media such as textas, coloured pencils, coloured inks and crayons as well as collage materials for some fanciful effects.
This poster would make great displays around the classroom or be photographed and scanned for booklet, slideshow or web page.
Some images for the setting and background are below for those who need a helping hand. (Sierras Discovery Series: Early Learning Reading Skills: Mixed Up Fairy Tales).
